A resurfacing project starts Sunday night on Interstate 85 in Alabama that will close lanes at night for six months. The work runs from east of the Taylor Road exit in Montgomery to the Macon County line.
Crews will be planing, resurfacing and striping lanes plus installing cable guide rails. Lanes will only be closed Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Midsouth Paving of Birmingham is doing the work after winning a bid from the Alabama Department of Transportation totaling $4.2 million. The company expects to be finished by the fall of 2018.
