Georgia Football is back at Spring Camp. That means that there are plenty of players to keep an eye on who could have big roles in this 2018 team.
It’s about that time of year guys. Georgia Football is back in the building and they’re officially working out again. While it’s not real football, it’s a sign that we’re getting closer and closer to the spring game this April.
Looking at each position group in the run-up to the spring has been pretty fun. There are going to be some really fun competitions on the defense and the offensive line. However, one of the most exciting position groups for me this spring is going to be pass catchers. While UGA might be losing Javon Wims to the NFL, there are a lot of guys who could step up this year.
I’m one of those people who thinks that UGA will open up the passing game a bit this year. With Chubb and Michel now gone and Jake Fromm a year older, I just think we’ll see a more balanced game plan. It’s going to help that Georgia has a very talented stable of receivers right now.
Terry Godwin and Mecole Hardman should be pencilled in as starters. Both are under 6ft tall but are really dangerous players, especially in the slot. Both will rotate between that and outside in certain sets, but there is going to be lots of competition to get on the field next to them. Georgia is going to want a taller receiver who Fromm can make those back shoulder throws to.
So let’s take a quick look at the rest of this unit. There are several names that you should recognize and maybe a couple you don’t. All of them will be fun to watch come G-day when they take on Georgia’s young but talented secondary.
